Posters and Publications
This page features several magazine spreads, posters, and pamphlets I have created using Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. These publications showcase a wide range of work, highlighting my capabilities in producing dynamic and visually engaging pieces.
By employing design principles such as typography, color theory, layout and composition, hierarchy, and contrast, I ensure each piece communicates a clear message to viewers while maintaining an aesthetically pleasing and professional quality.
Extension and Reflection: This project explores the formal qualities of typography and how various typographical forms can be found in both natural and man-made environments. By analyzing these shapes, the project highlights how the environment can reflect and inspire typographic design. Through this exploration, I learned to see and utilize design elements in everyday surroundings.
SIUE Art & Design Brochure: I designed a brochure advertising the Art and Design school at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Each section details the specifics of different departments, with custom pictograms illustrating each discipline. I integrated the iconic "e" logo into the headlines for consistent branding. This project combined informative content with cohesive visual elements, showcasing my design skills and attention to detail.
ZOOOM!: I illustrated an electric scooter in a vibrant, abstract style and transformed it into an artistic poster featuring a playful word in the background and a QR code leading to a GIF of a puppet zooming around. This project enhanced my proficiency with Illustrator and taught me how to adapt my work to different concepts. It also deepened my understanding of combining traditional illustration with interactive digital elements to create engaging visual experiences.
David Levi Visiting Artist Poster: I designed an informational poster for a visiting artist in the glassworking department at SIUE. The poster highlights one of the artist's most popular pieces and includes a close-up of the glassblowing technique demonstrated during the event. To create a cohesive visual experience, I incorporated the red ball motif from the featured piece into the header of the poster. Additionally, I carefully arranged the event details to enhance the poster’s overall balance and visual appeal. This project deepened my skills in creating unified designs and taught me how to effectively integrate visual elements to support event communication.
Timeless Fun Poster: I designed a poster to encourage spending time with the elderly, a cause close to my heart. Using vibrant photography and color, the poster counters the stereotype of older individuals being boring and features a strong visual hierarchy. This project enhanced my skills in using design to address social issues and taught me how to balance engaging visuals with meaningful messages
