Association of People Supporting Employment First

Internship

One of my first graphic design internships was with the Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE). During this internship, I designed social graphics, logos, motion graphics, and informational flyers. It was incredibly rewarding and encouraging to see my designs published and viewed by the public for the first time. Working with such a mission-driven

client made me feel like I was contributing to a meaningful cause that helps people. I used Illustrator and InDesign to create custom assets and collaborated with the APSE team to develop designs in Canva. Using Canva allowed the team to update my designs as needed over time. Through this experience, I learned the importance of adaptability and collaboration in design.

Logo Design

I designed two logos for APSE's continuing education programs: one for Rising Stars and another for Emerging Leaders. Drawing inspiration from the titles and the specifics of each program, I created elegant, scalable logos that clearly communicate the essence of these initiatives. There were several iterations of each logo, and I dedicated significant time collaborating with the APSE team to find a design solution that met everyone's needs. Through this process, I learned the importance of client collaboration to achieve the best possible outcome.

APSE Conference Motion Graphic

I created a GIF of APSE's 2022 Moving Mountains conference logo. This motion graphic was prominently displayed at the conference, showcased on screens between presentations. This project marked my first experience with Adobe After Effects, and I was excited to delve into the world of motion graphics. I took a resourceful approach, teaching myself how to use the program and produce a professional-quality graphic. Through this experience, I learned the importance of self-directed learning and gained valuable skills in motion graphic design.
